WARS
A note from Kizzy:
I am a musician, an actor, a writer, a poet and entertainer living in freedom. So I don't have all the answers, I trust in always voting when there are elections and I trust in supporting organizations that save, heal, free people and help end their suffering.
Here are some of the many official organizations to which we can donate:
Docters Without Borders (Artsen Zonder Grenzen)
Money is not everything, but money helps a lot. People need money to be able to do something about injustice.
It is good to see so many people passionate about this topic now. I hope we don't forget that there are wars all over the world, wars which don't get much attention or press.
People have been suffering hunger and unspeakable war crimes in places we don't hear much about, for so many years.
Last Christmas I ended all my Christmas Shows with "War is over, if you want it, war is over now" and it so incredably sad how appropiate this John Lennon song still is.
I hope we can keep our eyes and ears open to what has been happening, and I hope we can keep our hearts open to care about people in need - even those who are not like us - for they have the right to safety, love and freedom, just like we do.
I hope politicians can get past their own gains and egos, but we can't count on that, we can only try to reach deep inside and find compassion to help others.
🎶 "...Keeping faith for something better
Foreign, but still family
Only when we come together
Will we finally be free..."
- Kizzy (from my song 'We're All Beautiful')
Kizzy was the initiator of 'Schiedam Steunt St. Maarten', a charity event she set up to collect donations and goods for Saba, St. Eustatius and especially St. Martin which was hit the hardest by hurricane Irma.
The show hosted by Marco Spruit Bleeker aired LIVE on Popup TV and featured music artists, poets, speakers, historians, schools, politicians and there were even international LIVE interviews with Jonathan Johnson, the Island Governor of Saba, and Kingdom representative Gilbert Isabella.
Kizzy who kept the TV audience up to date about the donations ended with a tribute, singing the National Anthems of Saba, Statia, and St. Martin.
All donations went to the Dutch Red Cross through the notary who was present. The goods were sent to the affected Islands with the collaboration of the Dordrecht Police Force.
You can watch the show here.
